    Kerrie Holley



    Kerrie joined Optum as their 1st Technical Fellow because of the opportunity and challenge to contribute to United Health Group (UHG)’s mission to help people live healthier lives and make health care work. At Optum, Kerrie is focused on advancing UHG in several strategic imperatives: Artificial Intelligence with a focus on machine learning and deep learning, IoT, Genomics, Blockchain and Cybersecurity. Previously Kerrie was the VP and CTO for Cisco’s Analytics and Automation Platform powered by machine learning. Kerrie Holley has contributed significantly to the technology landscape over several decades. In recognition of Holley’s groundbreaking work in service-oriented architecture software engineering at IBM, he was appointed an IBM Fellow. In that position, he provided thought leadership in areas including service-oriented architecture, business agility, analytics, and cloud computing. He holds several technology patents and is the author of two books: “Is Your Company Ready for Cloud” and “100 SOA Questions: Asked and Answered.” A Mathematics and Juris Doctorate degree later, he joined IBM as a software engineer and ultimately achieved the company’s highest technical distinctions, Fellow and Master Inventor. Earlier, Member of IBM Academy of Technology and Distinguished Engineer. As a highly sought-after keynote speaker on technology and future trends throughout the world, C-suite executives seek his guidance on technology strategy and adoption. Kerrie’s ideal role involves technology and executive leadership. From breaking down IBM’s Watson Jeopardy win to engineering tools and methods of service-oriented architecture, his natural ability to simplify complexities means he can help others understand the value of technology. He has mentored over a hundred people and is often asked to teach his course on, “How to Become a Technical Leader”. Kerrie is a strategist, consultant, multidisciplinary technologist, IT architect, and software engineer.
